Anson House, downtown Charleston’s newest entry in the super luxury condominium market, started construction earlier this Spring and, with only 11 residences left, announced the offering of this $4.95 million penthouse.
While it may sound like Manhattan pricing, the downtown market currently has eight residences listed at more than $4 million and this one ranks at the top price per square foot. Of course, it does come with 21st century features and conveniences like a full-time concierge and a 4,800 sf terrace (yes that’s more than 1/10 acre) overlooking the Charleston peninsula complete with an outdoor fireplace and kitchen, and all the upgrades you would expect in this price range. No, we didn’t see any personal staff included in this number, but you won’t be searching for a painter or subcontractor every year like those other buyers down the street who are living in their 300-year old Charleston single. Based on these numbers, looks like the South may rise again. Offered exclusively by Places.
